Car flips onto its side and crashes into street sign after young couple share a kiss while driving in Glenelg North, SA

Two young lovers found themselves in a precarious position in the early hours of Tuesday morning after sharing an ill-timed kiss while driving in Adelaide.

The 25-year-old female driver and her 18-year-old boyfriend were travelling along Tapleys Hill Rd, Glenelg North just before 3.15am, when the driver decided to change the music.

As she was doing so, her passenger decided it would be a good time to give her a kiss.

Distracted by the well-meaning act, the female driver lost control of their Mazda, causing it to roll and crash through a street sign.

The vehicle ended up on its side near the corner of Jervois St.

The couple managed to climb out of the vehicle unharmed.

SA Police said the pair were “lucky to escape injury”.

The woman from Plympton Park was reported for aggravated driving without due care.

She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

The passenger from Happy Valley was issued with an expiation notice for impeding the driver’s ability to control the vehicle.

The Mazda was towed from the scene and was written off.
