Car erupts in flames, killing occupants on on Tonkin Highway in Gosnells


A car has burst into flames on a Perth highway after hitting a tree, killing at least one person.

WA Police were called to reports of a car on fire on Tonkin Highway near the Albany Highway exit in Gosnells about 2.10am on Sunday.

“It appears the vehicle left the road and hit a tree before catching alight,” a police spokesperson told 7NEWS.com.au.

Paramedics and fire and rescue also attended the crash, however, the occupants of the car were declared dead at the scene, according to police.

At this time, it is not known how many people were involved in the fatal crash, as investigators work to identify victims.
